GEYEDANCE project presentation at the University of Toronto’s Medical Computer Vision and Robotics Lab

Dr. Nicola Piccinelli (ALTAIR Robotics Lab, Department of Engineering for Innovation Medicine, University of Verona) was invited to present his research in May 2025 at the Medical Computer Vision and Robotics Lab (MEDCVR) at the University of Toronto, Canada.

The seminar highlighted current work in surgical robotics, including GEYEDANCE.

The main topics were:

  • Applications in ophthalmic surgery from the GEYEDANCE project
  • Multi-arm teleoperation and automatic tool change
  • Vision-based registration and state chart reasoning
  • VO-MPC for whole-body collision avoidance
  • Safe learning

Thank you to the MEDCVR team for the invitation and the engaging discussions on the future of robotic surgery and congratulations on the successful seminar!
