GEYEDANCE final report successfully completed

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the GEYEDANCE project (Project No. 101070443), titled “AI Guidance for Robot-Assisted Eye Surgery”, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. Project duration was 36 months, from September 2022 until August 2025 – the final project review with external experts took place in October 2025.

The project successfully achieved all its objectives through strong collaboration across the consortium. The developed AI‑guided robotic platform for retinal surgery—featuring ultra‑thin microsurgical instruments and precise intraocular control—was validated through extensive pre‑clinical trials, confirming its safety and reliability. The development phase was perfectly supported by active clinical involvement and high‑quality scientific outputs. To the end, more than ten patents have been filed as a result of the project.

The consortium is fully committed to further activities in order to translate the project results into clinical practice.
