GEYEDANCE at CRAS & COSUR 2025

The 14th edition of the Conference on New Technologies for Computer/Robot Assisted Surgery (CRAS 2025) took place at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, from September 10–12, 2025.

Dr. Nicola Piccinelli (ALTAIR Robotics Lab, Department of Engineering for Innovation Medicine, University of Verona) presented the progress of the GEYEDANCE project in his oral presentation entitled: “A Multi-Modal Teleoperation Platform for Robot-Assisted Ophthalmic Surgery using iiOCT” (Nicola Piccinelli, Gernot Kronreif and Riccardo Muradore) in the session 5 on September 12, 2025

2025 Summer School on Robot-Assisted Surgery (COSUR 2025), a doctoral summer school was held from September 8-10, 2025, before the CRAS conference.

COSUR 2025 is jointly organized by the Robot-Assisted Surgery research group of KU Leuven, the Altair Robotics Lab at University of Verona, the Biomedical Robotics Lab at the Italian Institute of Technology, the LASIGE research group from the University of Lisbon as well as a plurality of European research projects on medical robotics.

Prof. Dr. Riccardo Muradore and Dr. Nicola Piccinelli (ALTAIR Robotics Lab, Department of Engineering for Innovation Medicine, University of Verona) highlighted GEYEDANCE in their presentations at the workshop entitled “Shared Control for Improving Robotic-Assisted Surgery in Ophthalmology” on September 8, 2025.

GEYEDANCE combines real-time guidance, smart visualization, and surgeon-centric features to improve surgical accuracy and outcomes. These contributions reflect the growing impact of robotics and AI in shaping the future of surgery.
